Todd Shanks has been teaching and choreographing all over the country since 2000. His travels have also taken him to Canada, Mexico and Columbia. His choreography has been featured on The View, ABC Nightly News, the MSG Network, NY1, CW 11, NYC’s Carnival, Steps on Broadway’s Faculty in Performance, the 2007 Yankee FanFest and “The Game Is In Us” (a Nike spec commercial). He has also choreographed for CityKids, the Cancer Dancers, and numerous award winning dance studios.
As a performer Todd has danced in music videos, commercials, industrials and television programs. Some of his credits include, The Electric Company, Kimberly Clark, The View, Sean Kingston, Volvo, Ford Motors, Race for the Cure, Wrigley’s, Paramount Pictures, Good Day NY, Pilsen Beer, the United Way, 1010 WINS, Hope and Heroes, and the Lyme Disease Foundation.
On stage he has performed with Synthesis Dance Project, Jette Performance Company, The Westchester Philharmonic, SDCF Dance Break, the 2006 Miss Florida Pageant, and Off Broadway Workshops of Halftime and On the Edge. He also co-created and starred in From Tap to Hip Hop, a brief history, an educational show for teenagers. Todd has taught for the University of Florida, Ballet Hispanico, the Ailey Extension, Dance Masters of America, Princeton Dance and Theater Studio, Dance New Amsterdam, Florida Dance Masters and many private dance studios throughout the United States.
He was on faculty at Steps on Broadway in New York City for over a decade. Currently he is an Artist in Residence at Dean College in Franklin, MA.
