James Boyd

James Boyd was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. He quickly became fluent in classical & contemporary ballet, jazz, hip hop, breakdance, contemporary modern and tap.
Received his Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A) from SUNY Purchase College in 2010. He is a faculty member of Hybriddance where some of the best dancers & choreographers are teaching.
He has performed multiple works such as “D-man In The Waters” choreographed by Bill T. Jones, “Kinasonata” choreographed by Bella Luwitsky and “Four Temperments – Serenade” choreographed by Balanchine.
James had the pleasure in performing a work called “In a Rehearsal Room” choreographed by William Carter.
James has danced for Sir Elton John & Lady Gaga for a charity event in New York City in 2010. Mr. Boyd has also worked with Ronen Koresh, Robert Battle, Bill T. Jones and Milton Myers.
In 2011, he performed with Rasta Thomas at the International Ballet awards ceremony in St. Petersburg, Russia. Recently, James was seen as a guest performer on the American hit show So You Think You Can Dance. James performed with Rock the Ballet by Rasta Thomas as a company member for Bad Boys of Dance, and as Romeo in Rasta Thomas’ world tour of Romeo and Juliet.
He is known as a international dancer, choreographer & teacher who has performed in over 14 countries and over 55 cities.
James is a regular faculty member of the Manhattan Dance Project.
